Code Enforcement Outreach Program

The Code Enforcement Outreach Program (C.E.O.P.) is designed to provide support for tenants, building owners/managers and the Department of Building Inspection, in  which the City and the community can work together in bringing housing into code compliance within the state and local laws. The purpose of this program is to expedite the code enforcement procedure by setting out their respective rights and responsibilities. The services in this program are to be made available to all tenants and landlords. It is the Department’s intent to particularly seek out those individuals or limited or non-English speaking skills. The goal of this program is to achieve the abatement of violations prior to Director’s Hearing, and prior to referral to the City Attorney’s Office. This program will result in better, faster services to our clients and, additionally, save resources that the Department can use for other enforcement services and programs.
